Challenge

Staffing Telstra’s ACT emergency call centre during the Queensland Floods.

With the recent floods in South – West Queensland, Telstra contacted CareersMultiList with the need to ‘man’ an emergency call centre in the Australian Capital Territory. Telstra needed 50 personnel within 48 hours, as part of a charity effort that was undertaken to assist the residents within the ravaged area.

Solution

CareersMultilist mobilised 5 agency partners to provision for a suitable candidate pool, utilising our central talent database, which houses over 1.8 million ‘hot candidates’, contributed and shared across the agency partnership.

In two days, CareersMultilist, filled the 50 chairs on a two shift, seven day week roster that lasted for three weeks.



We were very impressed with the team's dedication and the hours they put in on our behalf. The results of the recruiting effort so far have been exemplary


The Results

  • 90% placement rate within two days
  • Subsequent to finishing the three week project, high calibre employees were kept on to fill the only vacancies existing in the other Telstra call centres.
